A Little About Our Programs…

We adore mixed age groups and see the value on not focusing on “grades or specific classes” and instead meeting your child where they are and supporting them in every way we can. From the time our children are born we are constantly evaluating if they are “on track” but one of the most magical parts of childhood is meeting each individual child where they are and supporting them in their individual journey. Like every adult, every child is unique in their own journey, and no one is ahead or behind, they are exactly where they are meant to be. We will discuss together what the best placement for your child will be, but each class description does have a few mild guidelines to help you decide on the best placement for your child, as you know your child best. Our focus is to find the best class for your child socially, emotionally, educationally, and developmentally and watch them soar!

Seedlings (Blue Class) T/TH AM Class – 9:00-11:30am

Our Seedlings program is available for children 2.5-4 years of age        Ratio 2 to 10

Our Seedlings Program is a play-based program that was created for our youngest friends to have their first experience in school. There are so many benefits to social play at an early age and we are here to provide that in every way we can. This program was designed to lay the foundation for years to come in the program and to be able to provide their first classroom experiences in a loving and play rich environment. We will spend time indoors and outdoors daily and work on those very important first social skills within a group environment.

In this class we will work on communication skills, using our words when frustrated, and taking turns with materials. We will partner with parents with potty training and encourage and help with independence in the bathroom. We will continue working on “self help” skills and learning independence, including how to say goodbye to our grown ups. In this class we have a short group time that consists of movement songs and activities to begin to develop skills for structured learning and to get experience in following directions.

This program is offered Tuesday and Thursday from 9-11:30am

Tuition for our Seedlings Program is $300 a month x 10 months (September - June) + $100 yearly enrollment fee to cover supplies.

Up to 10 kids per class

2 snacks provided per day per child.

Sprouts (Yellow Class) M/W/F AM Class - 8:30-11:30am

Our Sprouts program is for children 3-5.5 years of age           Ratio 2 to 15

Our Sprouts Program is a play-based program and is a great introduction into a school environment. It can also be an amazing opportunity for older children to continue practicing their social interactions with peers while having the chance to take on a leadership role within a safe and loving learning environment. Your child will get to work on and develop social and life skills with peers and adults, while exploring and learning in the classroom.
This program will use the curriculum “Handwriting without Tears” to begin or continue working on our letter and number recognition as well as learning to write uppercase and lowercase letters, and numbers 0-9. We will learn all the basics, such as how to spell and write our name, recognizing our first and last name in print, and knowing emergency information. We will begin working on beginning math concepts through play and activities and continue mastering our shapes and colors. We will have science lessons weekly and have a variety of art materials available daily in the art room.

The majority of your child’s learning will take place during play and hands on experiences in the classroom with short amounts of time of instructional learning.

Things to consider when deciding if Sprouts is right for your child…

·       Does your child have the vocabulary to communicate with peers and take part in group discussion?

·       Is your child ready to start working on fine motor skills, including early writing skills with little frustration?

·       Is your child able to complete simple “self help” skills on their own – getting their coat and backpack on, getting shoes on, follow 3 step instructions, use the bathroom independently?

·       Is your child potty trained (not required but encouraged) and able to use the bathroom independently?

·       Is your child ready to work on problem solving skills with communication vs actions with peers?

·       Is your child able to focus on a group activity at circle or at the table for up to 15 min?

All classes have outside time daily, rain or shine.

This program is offered Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:30-11:30am.

Blossoms (Green Class) M,W,F PM Class - 12:00-3:30pm
Our Blossoms program is available for children 4.5-7.5 years of age   Ratio 1 to 15

Our Blossoms program is a play-based program that focuses on social development as well as school readiness. In this program we will follow the curriculum "All About Reading" where we will continue to work on our letter sounds, begin understanding blends, decoding words and begin working on our early reading skills. We will work on early writing skills through activities and journals. For math we will be using the curriculum "The Good and the Beautiful' and will be bouncing between Math K and Level 1. Math concepts will be practiced with patterns, number and sum recognition, adding and subtracting skills and counting by 1's, 10's, 5's, and eventually 2's. We will work our way into telling time, graphing, measurements, coin recognition and 2d shapes.

We will use "Little Hearts and Hands", from The Good and the Beautiful for our science curriculum and will have dedicated science time on Fridays. Varying art supplies will be available daily within the classroom as well as optional planned art activities offered weekly.

While this class is play-based, and we will have free choice play time daily both indoors and outdoors, this class will be more structured than our Sprouts Program. There will be more time in our day of structured learning and longer periods of guided instruction. Most of your child's structured time will still be in a group setting with hands on experiences and activities.

Things to consider when deciding if Blossoms is right for your child…

·       Does your child have experience with writing letters and numbers?

·       Can your child focus on group and independent activities for up to 20 min?

·       Is your child FULLY independent in the bathroom?

·       Is your child independent in “self help” skills?

·       Can your child resolve conflict with peers using communication vs actions?

·       Can your child recognize most numbers, letters, and their name in print?

Wildflowers (Purple Class) T/TH PM Class - 12:00-2:30pm
Our Wildflowers Program is available to children 2.5-7.5 years of age - Ratio 2 to 15

Our Wildflowers Program is magic! This program is a play-based program for mixed ages, for children to just PLAY!!! This program was created for the kids! Each day when it is time to clean up to go home, I hear “Miss Amy, please can we stay longer and just play?” Play is something I hold near and dear to my heart and something I believe is so incredibly important in childhood. What is even better than playing with peers? Playing with kids of all ages! Having a class with mixed ages allows siblings to attend together but it also gives an amazing opportunity for the older kids to be examples for our younger friends, to learn compassion and patience, to allow children to help each other out and problem solve and it gives our youngest friends someone to look up to and learn from. Forever ago, or maybe not that long ago, schools were one room schoolhouses. We did not separate by grades and kids were more of a family vs just knowing the kids in their classroom. This program is offered to bring back the magic of the one room schoolhouse and to provide 5 hours a week where all I am asking from them is to just PLAY! While we do not do a formal curriculum in this program the kids have endless access to all of the play materials in our classroom including art and science materials daily. We know children can meet every developmental and academic need through play in the right environment.

"Scientist have discovered that it takes approximately 400 repetitions to create a new synapse in the brain, unless it is done in play, in which case it only takes 10-20 repetitions" - Karyn Purvis
